Fusion is taught under three main categories in Winter Retreats. A typical Summer Retreat covers only Level I of the series, The Fusion of the Five Elements.
- Fusion I: Fusion of the Five Elements       Â
- Fusion II: Fusion of the Eight Forces | Cosmic Fusion       Â
- Fusion III: Fusion of the Eight Psychic ChannelsÂ
The Fusion Practice is a fundamental component of Master Chia’s broader system of Taoist Inner Alchemy. It is an advanced and comprehensive system of energy cultivation and spiritual development. It aims to transmute and harmonize the body’s energy, emotions, and spirit to promote physical health, emotional balance, and spiritual growth. The Fusion Practice includes several levels, with each level building upon the previous one.
The practice begins with the introduction of the Creation Cycle and how the Five Elements (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood) may counter-interact with each other if not balanced. The goal is to balance and harmonize the energies of these elements to support overall health and well-being.
As the Fusion Practice progresses, it involves the creation and refinement of an energy body, often referred to as the “immortal fetus” or “inner child.” This energy body is seen as a repository of pure and balanced energy.
The Fusion Practice also includes techniques for processing and healing negative emotions. Practitioners learn to transform and transmute emotional imbalances into harmonious energy, allowing them to achieve greater emotional stability and resilience.
The Fusion Practice is often integrated with the Microcosmic Orbit Meditation, which involves circulating energy through the central energy channel in the body. This integration helps connect the energy work of the Fusion Practice with the broader system of Inner Alchemy.
As with all Taoist practices, it’s essential to approach the Fusion Practice with dedication, patience, and a deep understanding of its principles and techniques.
Fusion I
Fusion of the Five Elements
Fusion of the Five Elements is the necessary first step in the Taoist practice of Inner Alchemy, in which one learns to control the generation and flow of emotional, mental, and physical energies within the body. It is a series of meditations designed to locate and dissolve negative energies trapped inside the body by making a connection between the five outer senses (experienced through the ears, eyes, nose, mouth, and tongue) and the five major negative emotions (anger, hate, worry, sadness, and fear). When the body is cleared of negative energy, universal chi energy flows freely and productively, nourishing both body and soul.

Fusion II
Fusion of the Eight Forces | Cosmic Fusion
Cosmic Fusion is an advanced level of Inner Alchemy that teaches how to bring the physical body into balance with the energy body —a crucial step in developing the universal body known as the “pearl of compassion.” This universal body is intricately linked with the original creation and the broader Universal Tao philosophy.
Cosmic Fusion operates by harnessing the principles of the eight Pakua, the elements of Chinese Cosmology that provide structure and definition to all aspects of creation. By achieving equilibrium between celestial and earthly forces, individuals can manifest a life that perfectly aligns with their essence, paving the way for the spirit body to venture into realms beyond and then return.

Fusion III
The Eight Psychic Channels
Fusion of the Eight Psychic Channels is a progression beyond the earlier practices of Fusion of the Five Elements and Cosmic Fusion. It is the final preparatory step for engaging in the “Practice of the Immortal Tao.” In this practice, Master Chia imparts the techniques for opening two critical psychic channels: the Great Bridge Channel and the Great Regulator Channel. These channels are the last components of the eight psychic channels network, interconnecting the twelve organ meridians, allowing energy to flow seamlessly between them. By unlocking these channels in conjunction with the Microcosmic Orbit practice, individuals can effectively balance and regulate the energy circulation throughout their bodies, safeguarding the well-being of all vital energy centers.
Master Chia introduces the “Spinal Cord Microcosmic Orbit” practice, which involves enveloping and strengthening the spinal cord with energy. Additionally, he teaches the “Sealing the Aura” technique, which develops a denser aura, protecting the physical body and facilitating the reception of higher-frequency Universal Force energies. Proficiency in these practices culminates in forming the energy body necessary to attune to the expansive Universal Force vibrations accessible through the advanced “Practice of the Immortal Tao.”
